Jake Thurston

Jake Thurston: Spiritual Formation Resident

Jake was born and raised in Fountain City, Indiana, and has been active in the Church his entire life. In December 2009, God called him into full-time vocational ministry at a Wesleyan Youth Conference, and has devoted his life to serving the Church ever since.

Jake received his bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries at Indiana Wesleyan University, where he served as a practicum student at Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church, a student chaplain for Indiana Wesleyan University, and spent three summers working at SpringHill Camps. Jake began his Master’s of Practical Theology degree in 2015, which required a practical ministry experience to coincide with his graduate education. This led Jake to join The Ransom Church’s residency program in 2016, where he now serves as a Downtown Campus Resident Pastor.

Jake is thrilled to be in a church environment that is led by God-fearing pastors, driven by zealous volunteers, and embarks on a mission to set captives free. He is a lover of life with a bright smiling face, a coffee-enthusiast, an Xbox-gamer, an avid reader, a zealous learner, and loves making new friends!
