Journey of Generosity

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.  If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.  If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging.  If it is giving, give generously.” (Romans 12:6-8a)

What is the Journey of Generosity Group?

This is a voluntary group of Ransom attenders who support the vision of setting captives free, not only through prayer and serving, but also specifically by giving to provide financial capital for the vision. Our goal as a church is to be good stewards of our resources, living on 80%, giving away 10% and saving 10% for future campus expansion. The Journey to Generosity group goal is to match that 10% with an additional 10%, giving us the equivalent of 20% of any year’s annual budget for future campus expansion.

Who can be part of Journey of Generosity Group?

Everyone at Ransom Church is invited to honor God with their tithe (first fruits) which supports the general ministry of the church. And everyone at Ransom Church is invited to give toward “Campus Expansion” offerings as they sense God’s leading. Journey of Generosity Group is simply for some who feel called to make an extra annual financial investment for the sake of the expansion of the vision.

Why do we have a Journey of Generosity Group?

Though it’s true that we have the goal for this group of matching our 10% savings number every year, ultimately this group isn’t about money at all. Ransom Church chooses not to make fund raising the dominant conversation for ongoing weekend services. Further, some have the gift of giving. As Romans 12 showed us, we are all given different gifts and abilities to build up the body of Christ. Some serve as singers, teachers, tech team or nursery workers just to name a few. And just like gifted singers join the choir, “gifted givers” have a place as well. Journey of Generosity works to develop those gifts in order to honor God and realize the vision of setting captives free.

What is the basic commitment?

The basic Journey of Generosity commitment is as follows:

  • You must commit to tithe 10% of your income to Ransom Church
  • You must make a commitment this year, minimum of $500 (doesn’t matter what size) above and beyond your tithe.

That’s it! This is not an exclusive group- you can sign up by clicking HERE. But this is a specific group. It is NOT about the money. It’s about learning to be obedient givers. We simply want to help you learn to listen to God and then give when/where He calls you to give. Interested? Click the above link and fill out the form and we will be in touch!
