Tomorrow, we are taking our staff and our volunteer leaders to Willow Creek Church in Chicago for their annual Church Leadership Summit. I am more than excited!
Since I won’t be blogging at all this week, I thought it would be fitting to leave you with a few words from Bill Hybels, pastor of Willow Creek Church. Since I will sit under his teaching this week, I thought you could as well.
The following thoughts are excerpts from Bill Hybel’s book “Axiom- Powerful Leadership Proverbs”. Enjoy!
“This is the only life I get, my one and only shot at following God the way I feel him prompting me to do so. This isn’t some pregame warm-up. It’s the game and the clock is ticking!”
“Wherever you see something going well-whenever light begins to chase back the darkness that threatens to engulf our world, look closely. There stands a leader who is holding that candle”.
“Admitting your mistakes says something profound about your basic integrity…”
“Leadership’s first test is the test of the family, and it’s the test that must be passed before any further tests may be taken”.
“There isn’t enough money in the world to motivate me to do what I do. But there is a kind of compensation that does fire me up. It’s God’s commendation to all his sons and daughters who serve faithfully: Well Done”.
