ANNUAL
REPORT

A LETTER FROM

This was our most successful year ever!
…Now, I get it. That’s what you are supposed to say on an annual report. You’re supposed to celebrate growth and tell the stories of all the amazing things God is doing…and this annual report certainly has plenty of this. But success is ultimately defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Success is only defined by growth if growth is your goal. The last few years have challenged churches like never before and have caused us to discover and define just what it is we are actually aiming for and just what it is we want to accomplish. And as I have led Ransom Church through this tough season of ministry, I have been given the amazing opportunity through that tough season of re-evaluating what I want most and how I want to define success. For me and for Ransom Church, it comes down to one idea…one word.

RESIDENCY
CURRENT RESIDENTS
RESIDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN SENT THIS YEAR

Samantha S.
Compassion Pastor Resident
“I chose residency at Ransom Church because I graduated with a degree in ministry, and I still felt like I was missing the necessary experience to do the job well. The residency has allowed me to have the guiding hand that I was looking for during my first few years in ministry.”

Sarah L.
Campus Pastor Resident
“Honestly, I feel like residency chose me. I wrestled with my call to ministry and stepping away from healthcare, as I love Physical Therapy and still do. I began to get my own ideas about seminary and God closed those doors hard and fast only to open the door to residency. Mandi and I had been having conversations while I still worked for Sanford, and she walked with me as I stepped into this calling. So, I opened my hands and stepped out in faith. Delayed obedience is disobedience, and here I am.”

Ethan Z.
Worship Pastor Resident
“When I was looking into different residencies, Ransom stood out as a place that truly wanted more for me than from me and that was evident throughout my interview and onboarding process. I have learned so much about myself throughout my residency, I have grown in areas I needed to grow in and I have learned more about the strengths God has given me and how I can use them for His Kingdom.”

Priscilla Y.
Teens Pastor Resident
“There was a bunch of peace wrapped behind seeking residency at Ransom Church. I needed a safe, God-anointed, spirit-led space to help me grow in my call to ministry.”

Noah S.
Teens Pastor Resident
“Going through college I had several people tell me that residency wasn’t needed for me and that I would do just fine going straight into full time ministry. I appreciated their words, and honestly, they were probably right. But residency isn’t for those people who “aren’t ready for full time ministry,” residency is additional training and equipping at such a practical level that it increases long term longevity in ministry.”
